How to Read a Motor Nameplate Before Ordering a Replacement

· admin

Sending us a clear photo of the nameplate is the fastest way to get an accurate quotation. The critical fields are: rated power (kW/HP), voltage and connection (Δ/Y), full-load current, speed (RPM/poles), frame size, mounting (B3/B5/B14/B35), duty (S1…) and IP rating. Frame size and mounting determine whether a replacement bolts straight in — get these wrong and the motor won’t fit, no matter how correct the power rating is.
